Strategic Pathway Program: Multi Actor Working Committee meets at Guwahati

A Multi Actor Working Committee (MAWC) has been formed to discuss the issues of malnutrition among pregnant, lactating mothers and children below 5 years. This is done under the Strategic partnership programme of ICCSPL. The committee comprises of Chairpersons of State Women Commission and State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, UNICEF, TISS; Training and nodal institute National Institute of Corporate and Child development, reputed NGOs and The Nutrition Coalition. The first meeting of the committee was held on 21st September, 2017 at Hotel Pragati Menor, Guwahati , Assam. In this meeting, all the committee members were present and showed their high interest to move to the highly malnutrition affected districts like Goalpara and Sonitpur to discuss with the district administration on the needs of multi-sectoral approach. All the members present showed their high interest to be involved in this programme to create an impact in the state of Assam through their association at different levels. The meeting was attended by high profile dignitaries that included Smt. Chikimiki Talukdar, Chairperson of Assam State Women Commission (ASWC), Smt. Sunita Changkakati, Chairperson of Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR), Dr. Sameer Pawar, Nutrition Expert of UNICEF, Mr. Subir Kr. Das , State Consultant of UNICEF, Prof. Kalpana Sarathy of TISS, Guwahati, Dr. Bandana Bhuyan, Former Regional Director, NIPCCD, Guwahati, Ms. Kashmiri Baruah of NIPCCD, Dr. Chiranjeeb Kakoty, Director, NESPYM, Ms. Nirjumoni Dutta Bharali, Senior Programme Manager, ICCSPL, and Ms. Ruchira Neog, Project Co-ordinator of Pathway 2, among others.
